Thompson To Appear on CMT’s Southern Fried Flicks With Hazel Smith This Weekend
Columbia Nashville’s Josh Thompson recently learned the secrets to real down-home cooking while filming an episode of CMT's Southern Fried Flicks With Hazel Smith. In addition to enjoying George Strait’s recipe for King Ranch Chicken and Spanish rice, the “Beer On The Table” singer chatted with Hazel about the February 23 release of his debut album Way Out Here, his Opry debut and his upcoming Jagermeister Country Tour with Eric Church. Hazel Smith, the authority on who’s who in country music, admitted afterwards that she wanted to adopt Josh Thompson and added, “He writes such great songs and sings 'em like a saint.”
“Hazel is an absolute sweetheart, and had a way of making it feel like home. As soon as I hit the door the smell brought me back to a home cooked meal and a familiar place,” Thompson says of the visit. “And the food was amazing, it had that pinch of ‘love’ you can't find just anywhere.” The episode will air on CMT tomorrow, Saturday February 6th, at 5PM EST and 9:15PM EST.
Next week, Josh will help kick off the 32-date Jagermeister Country Tour beginning in Baltimore on February 9. Fans who visit www.joshthompsonofficial.com to pre-order his debut album Way Out Here will now get a chance to win a meet & greet with him in their city. Twenty people will be chosen for each show. After purchasing the album, fans can e-mail their order ID along with the show they will be attending to email@example.com. Way Out Here is set for release on February 23.
