Carrie Underwood Receives FIVE Academy of Country Music Award Nominations

Nominations: Female Vocalist, Album (Some Hearts), Single of the Year,
Song of The Year and Video of The Year

NASHVILLE, TN – (March 5, 2007) – Carrie Underwood woke up at her home in Nashville to great news this morning after a call from her manager informed her she receives five nominations for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards. Underwood’s nomination categories are: Female Vocalist, Album (Some Hearts), Single of the Year, Song of The Year and Video- all for “Before He Cheats.” Underwood receives her first nominations in the ACM’s Video and Album categories.

“I feel like I am still in a dream,” says Underwood. “My life has been such a whirlwind in the past two years, so please don’t wake me up!”

Underwood took home 2 trophies at last year’s awards- Top New Female Vocalist and Single of The Year for “Jesus, Take The Wheel.” The Academy of Country Music Awards airs on May 15 on the CBS Television Network.

Underwood will fly to Los Angeles to appear on American Idol this Thursday, March 8 to perform her current smash single “Wasted.”
